Aircraft Maintenance Technician – 957
Location:
Minneapolis, MN, USA
West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting civilian aircraft systems.
Essential Functions- Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
- Remove and install panels and components.
- Troubleshoot and problem‑solve aircraft system/component issues.
- Debunk aircraft and engine removal/installations.
- Operate ground support equipment.
- Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components.
- Assist with aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
A high‑school diploma or equivalent.
Your Experience- AMT I:
Airframe or Powerplant license required (airframe preferred). 0–2 years of aviation maintenance experience. Requires close supervision. - AMT II
:
Airframe or Powerplant license required (airframe preferred). 2–4 years of experience, preferably on corporate aircraft. Requires general supervision. - AMT III
:
Airframe license required;
Powerplant license highly preferred. 4–6+ years of experience, preferred on corporate aircraft. Requires supervision for new or special assignments. - AMT IV (Master):
Airframe and Powerplant license required. 6+ years of experience, extensive corporate aircraft experience. Subject‑matter expert.
- Lift 50 lbs.; routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting.
- Perform repetitive motion with arms and hands.
- Climb ladders and stairs; work in small, restricted areas.
- Stand for long periods.
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
- Work with others professionally.
Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations. Outside work during aircraft runs. Varied positions in and around aircraft.
SupervisionWork under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May supervise other technicians.
Other Requirements- Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel or passport (ideal).
- Reliable transportation to work each day.
- Attend work as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
