Job Summary
Provide welding support as part of the maintenance crew, including welding and fitting tasks for the maintenance and construction of a steel pipeline system in accordance with applicable codes. Responsibilities include general labor activities such as driving commercial vehicles, operating equipment, damage prevention, and repair of pipeline and facility assets. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and union bidding applies.

Job Profile Summary- Use oxyacetylene and electric welding equipment in construction and maintenance of pipelines, pumping equipment and above-gound storage tanks.
- Read blueprints and fabricate accordingly.
- Accurately and safely complete tasks according to the Company Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan and System Integrity Plan (SIP).
- Operate medium-weight duty to full-size trucks; load and unload materials; operate boom, winch, vacuum trailer and other truck auxiliary equipment.
- Provide labor and/or inspection support on various pipeline and facility maintenance projects.
- Perform damage prevention activities including line locating and right-of-way marking.
- Assist other crew members, welders or technicians as needed.
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and perform tasks in various environmental conditions.
- Take part in Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). functions, including operations, maintenance or emergency response on a pipeline, and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions to prevent serious injury or property damage.
- Travel up to 75% of the time.
High school diploma required.
Work Experience1-2 years of related work experience preferred.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.

- Use a personal computer with the Windows operating system to complete timesheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the company’s intranet.

- Compile and/or examine information and select the best action from defined alternatives.
- Organize and/or analyze information and identify solutions from a range of alternatives.
- Pass a test based on API 1104 and ASME Section IX within 30 days of hire.
- Obtain a Department of Transportation CDL license with Haz Mat endorsement within 60 days of hire.
- Develop a working knowledge of company’s procedures within 120 days of hire.
- Current API certifications and CDL preferred.
- Be qualified in specific tasks according to the Company’s Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan.
Very heavy work, with exertion in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, near and far vision, depth perception, color vision are required. Frequent repetitive motion and exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, fumes and potential electric shock are expected.
WorkingConditions
Inside and outside environmental conditions, including indoor climate-controlled areas, outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, dust, fumes, gases, moving mechanical parts, potential electric shock, loud noises, unprotected heights, repetitive motion, computer monitor use, and driving tasks. Potential travel up to 75%.
TravelPotential travel requirements: 26-75% of the time. The employee may be assigned a company vehicle requiring an applicable driver’s license.
