Provide building maintenance services in a professional manner by providing consistent quality services to ensure a clean, safe and environmentally sound operation of buildings for all students, employees and visitors to Normandale Community College.  Operate and maintain campus heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and other mechanical and electrical systems to improve efficiency and economy. Perform minor repairs to systems and equipment, including plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, pneumatic and other equipment.  

This position is responsible for maintaining the environmental climate of all campus buildings and spaces including temperature, ventilation and humidity in order to provide a healthy and comfortable environment.  This position is a part of the Facilities Emergency call list and will occasionally be expected to respond to related emergency situations.

Under limited supervision, this position reports directly to the Mechanical System Supervisor to fulfill assigned work instructions.

This position will actively advance the college's strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.

** Minimum*
* These qualifications are required to move forward; as such, (ensure your application contains descriptions of your education and work experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in each of the following)

+ Valid Boiler Engineer's License or the ability to possess one within 6 month.

+ Knowledge of but not limited to: o Boilers, engines, generators, pumps, compressors, heaters, dampers, motors and energy management systemso Reading blueprints and building schematics, pneumatics and DDC controls o Basic computer skills sufficient to use the work order system, email and various software programs and apps.

+ Ability to: o Move through buildings to monitor equipmento Operate or control small toolso Position self to access units and confined spaces o Ascend/descend to roofs, inside air handlers and other equipment areas in the college

** Preferred*
* + Four (4) years of Facilities, Physical Plant or Central Plant operation and maintenance experience, including general preventative maintenance
