Aircraft Maintenance Technician – 957
West Star is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) for the Minneapolis, MN location. The role involves working on a diverse range of civilian aircraft, performing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tasks, and ensuring compliance with FAA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities- Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
- Remove and install panels and components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system/component issues.
- De‑fuel aircraft.
- Conduct engine removal and installations.
- Operate ground support equipment.
- Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
- Assist in aircraft movement, taxiing, and performance runs.
- Maintain shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
- Use basic computer skills for electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory.
Your Experience AMT IAirframe or Powerplant license is required (Airframe preferred). 0‑2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or a similar field. Technicians have limited to moderate knowledge and require close supervision.
AMT IIAirframe or Powerplant license is required (Airframe preferred). 2‑4 years of experience working in aviation maintenance. Preference for corporate aircraft experience. Technicians have considerable knowledge and require general supervision.
AMT IIIAirframe license required;
Powerplant license highly preferred. 4‑6+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, with preference for corporate aircraft. Technicians have full knowledge and can handle detailed and special assignments.
Airframe and Powerplant licenses required. 6+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, especially on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject‑matter expert status expected.
Additional Requirements- Self‑motivated team player able to work fast‑paced and under deadlines.
- Reliable transportation for all work days, including overtime and weekends.
- Adherence to FAA guidelines, company safety rules, and customer‑oriented work habits.
- Lifts 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
- Repetitive arm and hand motions.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
- Stand for long periods.
- Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
- Diagnose and evaluate system operation.
- Collaborate professionally with others.
- Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance, with potential supervisory duties.
- Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations; occasional outside work during taxiing or runs.
- Varied positions around the aircraft.
- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
- Tugs, power carts, and other engine‑powered equipment.
