- Understand and adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in regular periodic Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
- Respond rapidly to equipment issues negatively impacting production and/or safety.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on a wide array of equipment including motors, pumps, valves, measuring instruments, PLC, centrifuges, heat exchangers, steam-tube dryers, boilers, conveyors, augers, hammer mills, and process tanks and vessels.
- Weld metal components together with brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, structures, motors, and generators.
- Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Repairs broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increases the size of metal parts.
- Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Complete assigned projects including mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades.
- Prioritize work through communication with Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, and process team.
- Manage work and communicate results by utilizing a CMMS system.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certificate of completion of accredited welding program.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work a flexible work schedule with varying days and hours, including call-ins.
- Able to work outdoors in all seasons and work at heights.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; climb ladders; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to moderately loud.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable vision to complete work safely.
The starting wage for this position is $34/hour, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
