Diesel Mechanic
Join our family-owned, independent Auto and Truck repair shop as an experienced Diesel Mechanic. In this role, you will work independently and largely on commission, meaning the more efficiently you complete repairs, the more you earn. Our growing shop offers ample opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities- Conduct electronic diagnostics by inspecting and testing vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance on medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, including engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters and flushes.
- Execute service repairs such as repairing brakes and suspensions.
- Handle major repairs and troubleshooting, including fixing engine failures, mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing minor body damage.
- Maintain vehicle records by documenting service and repairs.
- Manage costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Proficiency in repair, diesel engine mechanics, and diesel repair
- Competence in electronic diagnostics and electrical systems
- Experience with brakes, flushes, suspension, and hydraulics
- 4+ years of diesel service repair experience
- 6+ months of customer service experience
- Valid driver's license
Skills & Qualifications
- Eligibility for a CDL is preferred but not required
- Experience with large diesel trucks or heavy equipment is advantageous

Work EnvironmentOur shop provides flexibility with openings on both shifts. The day shift runs from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with optional Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second shift offers flexible hours, typically from noon to 8 p.m., 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The primary location for this position will be at our shop, where we specialize in fleet vehicles, diesel engine repair and maintenance, equipment repair, mobile crane equipment, collision repair, aerial lifts, Hy-Rail vehicles, hydraulic systems, metal fabrication, and hybrid vehicles.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr. 401K Match, Full Benefits
