Bob Boldt HVAC, LLC, a locally owned contractor in Eagan, MN, seeks an HVAC Technician to install, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial heating, cooling, and indoor air quality systems. In this field-based role, you'll diagnose issues, perform high-quality repairs, complete change-outs and new installs, and provide routine maintenance on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and IAQ equipment. You'll interact directly with customers, explain findings and options, and uphold our integrity-driven, customer-first culture.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and IAQ systems
  • Diagnose system issues, recommend solutions, and complete high-quality repairs
  • Start up, test, and balance new installations to meet code and manufacturer specs
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage
  • Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency
  • Adhere to safety standards, building codes, and company quality procedures
  • Work independently in the field while communicating clearly with dispatch and customers
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with HVAC technologies
  • Provide occasional on-call or after-hours service as needed

Required Skills

  • HVAC system installation (furnaces, AC, heat pumps)
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment
  • Electrical and low-voltage controls for HVAC systems
  • Refrigerant handling and charging procedures
  • Combustion analysis and airflow balancing
  • Brazing, soldering, and basic sheet metal work
  • Use of HVAC diagnostic tools and meters
  • Reading blueprints and mechanical schematics
  • Knowledge of local mechanical and building codes
  • Customer service and clear field documentation
