SJS Executives LLC seeks a Facilities Controls Specialist / Building Automation Specialist to support mission-critical federal and commercial facilities. In this role, you will program, calibrate, and troubleshoot building automation and control systems for HVAC, lighting, and related equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will perform field diagnostics, system commissioning, and preventative maintenance while documenting work, interpreting drawings, and supporting energy optimization initiatives.

Working within SJS's integrity-driven, safety-conscious culture, you will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and clients on impactful projects, gaining exposure to complex facilities and opportunities for professional growth and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot building automation and control systems for HVAC, lighting, and related equipment.
  • Perform field diagnostics, functional testing, and commissioning of BAS and controls components.
  • Calibrate sensors, controllers, and end devices to ensure accurate and reliable system performance.
  • Interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings and update documentation as needed.
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on control systems to minimize downtime.
  • Support energy efficiency and optimization initiatives through control strategy improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and client representatives to resolve system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, codes, and federal or client-specific requirements.
  • Prepare clear service reports, logs, and technical documentation for all work performed.
  • Participate in continuous learning on new BAS technologies, tools, and best practices.
