This position is represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. The compensation schedule is based on the collective bargaining agreement.
Facilities Maintenance Technician OverviewThe Facilities Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintaining the Sun Country Airlines facilities related to HVAC, electrical, lighting, roofing, fire suppression, plumbing and grounds. This includes Headquarters, Maintenance Hangar(s), and leased airport spaces.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities:

- Maintain a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget. This includes all heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical as well as maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
- Assist with the monitoring of HVAC and fire suppression systems.
- Address facilities requests, complaints and resolve problems to ensure proper and timely repairs and maintenance of facilities and grounds
- Perform lighting and infrastructure maintenance (painting, small hardware issues, etc.) in operationally maintained areas.
- Perform other duties as requested by Manager or Director.
- Document work orders, incidents, and maintenance activities in facility management systems
- Communicate effectively regarding operational issues, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have general construction knowledge, basic electrical knowledge, basic plumbing abilities, able to troubleshoot HVAC issues and an ability to negotiate with contractors.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety roles, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with employees and vendors regarding facility matters.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, clean driving record
- Qualified candidates must pass a criminal history background check.
- Minnesota Class C Boiler License
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
