Job Overview
With over 70 years of operating experience, Primoris Power Delivery services include engineering and design, installation and maintenance, material and equipment procurement, repair of electrical transmission, distribution, substation, wireless communication, and storm restoration. Our experience ranges from small engineering and consulting projects to multi-million dollar turn-key distribution, substation, and transmission line programs. Edison Power Constructors (EPC) has immediate opportunities for IBEW Journeyman Lineman in Minnesota.
This is an IBEW position which constructs and maintains electrical distribution and transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various technical skills related to line work and possess a strong understanding of underground and safety regulations. Candidates must possess a valid CDL.
- Installs poles, conductor, transformers, meters, hardware on energized lines or de-energized lines in keeping with specifications and customer requirements.
- Reviews plans, specifications and understands and applies safety rules and company policies and promotes good relations with other crew members, patron cooperatives and the public.
- Operates bucket truck digger-derrick and other equipment on job site, as required.
- Inform supervisor of equipment and materials required to complete jobs.
- Assists foreman in carrying out work plans.
- Trains other crew members in construction of electrical systems as directed by crew foreman.
- Performs basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles used to perform assign duties.
- The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
- Performs any other related duties as required for the effective and efficient operation of the Construction Department.
- Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
- Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
- Class A CDL is required.
- Able to successfully complete both an oral, written exam and proficiency demonstration to determine position level.
- Able to provide your own tools and gear.
- Rubber Goods are assigned by company to each individual employee.
- Able to work outside in various weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Must possess physical dexterity to be able to lift a minimum of 50 LBS and safely perform other physical work.
- Able to travel on short-term basis.
- Able to demonstrate how to safely perform all tasks associated with high voltage electrical lines.
- Able to perform basic maintenance such as routine inspections, modification, installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and facilities.
- All positions require participation in federally compliant FMSCA drug and alcohol testing program. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
IBEW Scale starts at $58.50/hour. Union benefit package includes:
