Job Details
  • Hourly Range: $24 - $26
  • Job Type: Full-time, Onsite
  • Work Schedule:

    8:30am – 5pm Monday – Friday, must have flexibility to work some evenings.

Who is Youth Link?

Youth Link is a recognized leader in the Twin Cities and beyond for our work to build pathways of opportunity for homeless youth and youth in crisis ages 16 – 24. Our model is based on providing support through outreach, handling basic needs, intervention, and aftercare. Our youth-focused team provides innovative, evidence-based services that guide youth on a holistic level toward futures of education, employment, health and wellness, housing stability and aftercare.

As a Safe Harbor Youth Case Manager focused on youth that are struggling with sexual exploitation, you will be responsible for helping youth obtain public benefits when available. This position will implement educational programs regarding Safe Harbor laws and practices to enhance resources for these youth. Lastly, the Safe Harbor Youth Case Manager will also help youth obtain self-sufficiency through referrals for housing, counseling, financial counseling, job readiness programs and higher education.

Required Experience for entry into position:
  • 1+ years of case management experience.
  • 2 years’ experience working with homeless youth.
  • 2 years’ experience with community engagement.
  • 2 years’ experience working with Safe Harbor youth.
  • Facilitate youth groups regarding victimization on Wednesday evenings.
  • Valid MN State Driver’s License, insurance.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

and or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
  • Strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Knowledge of CES and HMIS/Client Track.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office applications as well as exhibit an ability to learn and utilize handheld applications systems and other electronic recording systems.
  • Knowledge of Minneapolis community mental health resources for youth experiencing homelessness.
  • Narcan training Preferred – Will pay for training upon hiring if needed
  • Understanding of psychological disorders, treatment modalities, and the recovery process.
  • Knowledge of working with youth with Mental Health diagnosis.
  • Able to assess and respond to unsafe situations, including verbally and physically responding to aggression where necessary in ways that de-escalate, establish, and maintain staff, client, and personal safety.
  • A high degree of professionalism and ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Consistent ability to perform and contribute positively in a diverse, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate care, delegate tasks, provide referrals and problem-solve as needed.
  • Dynamic energy, ability to multi-task and negotiate multiple demands on attention.
  • Demonstrate an ability to utilize continuous improvement techniques and quality research methods to optimize overall program operation and build community relationships.

Ability to work efficiently and effectively both individually and as part of a professional team.
