Hennepin County's Behavioral Health area has an exciting opportunity for an experienced licensed mental health professional with an interest in providing clinical supervision and leading innovative programs that serve community members who have contact with emergency response systems. We are seeking a Social Work Unit Supervisor who has strong leadership skills, is adaptable, has great attention to detail and the ability to review documentation thoroughly, and is committed to improving behavioral health outcomes through collaborative approaches.

This position will be part of a leadership team overseeing programs within the embedded social work model, including:

* Police Embedded Social Work Program

* Alternative Response Program

* Co-Response Program

These programs collaborate with law enforcement agencies across Hennepin County and provide crisis services to youth and adults who have contact with emergency response systems and high utilizers of 911.

Behavioral Health is an innovative and growing service area within Hennepin County's Human Services department. We provide a wide range of mental health and substance use services to residents, including children, adults, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Our team includes over 300 staff to include: social workers, psychologists, program managers, supervisors, planners, and others-working collaboratively to achieve system goals of expanded access, upstream support, and person-centered care.

Location and hours:

This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Behavioral Health Center at 1800 Chicago Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55404, and within the community, and remote as job duties require. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with occasional early morning, later evening, or weekend hours required. This position will also require participation in an after-hours on-call rotation to provide consultation and support to staff working evenings in embedded social work programs and other criminal justice behavioral health programs as needed.

While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:

* Provide clinical supervision to staff working in embedded social work programs and oversee clinical decision-making.

* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and community partners, including first responders, through presentations, work groups, consultation, and debriefings.

* Assist staff in navigating critical situations by providing real-time problem solving, sound clinical judgment, and sensitive, supportive guidance.

* Lead service expansions and quality improvement initiatives, including staff training, process implementation, and change management.

* Supervise staff through hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce development with adherence to labor agreements and personnel rules.

* Oversee team and program operations, including team dynamics, policy and workflow development, data reporting, quality assurance, community collaboration, clinical consultation via Epic, and advancing health equity and pilot initiatives.

Need to have:

* One of the following:

* Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field (or licensed as a graduate social worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work) and three or more years of experience as a social worker.

* Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 27 or more quarter credits of graduate work in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, and/or principles of social welfare, and four or more years of supervised experience as a social worker.

* Six or more years of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker in Hennepin County.

* Licensure in the State of Minnesota as one of the following:

* Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Minnesota Board of Social Work

* Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)

* Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

* Licensed Psychologist (LP)

* A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit and access to reliable transportation to travel across Hennepin County and to possibly transport and/or meet with persons in their residential or community settings.
