Position: Downtown View Front Desk Coordinator

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $19.50/Hour
  • Job Type: Part-time/Onsite
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2pm – 8pm

Our model is based on providing support through outreach, handling basic needs, intervention, and aftercare. Our youth-focused team provides innovative, evidence-based services that guide youth on a holistic level toward futures of education, employment, health and wellness, housing stability and aftercare.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Front Desk Coordinator to join our team and help us advance our mission. As a Front Desk Coordinator
, you are responsible for managing front desk operations and serve as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, community partners, and the public, creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment within Youth Link's Downtown View housing program. Utilizing a trauma-informed, youth-centered, and culturally responsive approach, the Welcome Desk Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a positive residential community, ensuring exceptional customer service, supporting the well-being of residents, and upholding Youth Link's mission, values, and commitment to empowering young people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

At this time Youth Link does not offer relocation or US work visa sponsorship.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years’ experience in front desk reception, customer service, administrative support, housing, social services, or related role required.
  • 2 years’ experience working in supportive housing, residential settings, shelters, community-based organizations, or social service programs.
  • 2 years’ experience working with youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability, mental health concerns, substance use challenges, or other barriers.
  • Must have comfort working independently and without supervision.
  • Must be able to come to work on time, for all regularly scheduled work shifts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices.
  • Comfortable and effectively able to work in a high-energy, fast-paced, and flexible environment where multitasking is often necessary.
  • Able to respond to aggression, when necessary, in ways that de-escalate and establish and maintain staff and youth safety.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  • Energetic, personable, and self-directed.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Mission-driven and able and willing to incorporate agency philosophy into service delivery.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth, co-workers, partners, and community.
  • Ensure positive and professional representation of the agency in all interactions with youth, co-workers, partners, volunteers, and community.
  • Understand and apply Guiding Principles to work with clients, staff, and community and partner agencies.
