As a Community Health Worker you will touch every aspect of our work developing a vast array of skills. You will provide assistance in our school clinics, teach children in their classrooms, and organize your assigned schools for services. Responsibilities- School-Based Dental Clinics – Assist or lead in setting up and cleaning up after the school-based dental clinics. In the clinic, serve as an unlicensed dental assistant to a dental provider.
- Oral Health Education – Learn and teach RSS oral health curriculum in an engaging way with appropriate information.
- Community Outreach & School Liaison – Act as the primary liaison to assigned schools, have a working relationship with the principal, school nurse, social worker, and/or community liaison.
- Back up delivery driver – expected no more than once a month – to deliver equipment to schools.
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to provide high-quality patient care
- Transportation/driver's license required
- Lived experience and understanding of the community served by RSS
- Experience in dental office/clinic
Compensation: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Ready, Set, Smile (RSS) is a 501c (3) nonprofit founded in 2013 to provide culturally rooted dental services, oral health education, and community outreach to low-income children and families of color who lack access to dental care. Through education and preventive services, Ready Set Smile prepares and empowers all children in our community to care for their oral health.
This role is in-person. Work hours are mainly between 8AM-5:30PM Mon.
