Backend Developer, Java Developer
Opportunity available experienced Back-End Developer to join a collaborative engineering team building scalable, high-performance backend services
. This is a contract, hybrid role (W2 only — no C2C or third-party vendors) offering hands-on ownership of modern microservices, APIs, and cloud-ready applications.
You’ll work closely with product managers, front-end engineers, and Dev Ops teams to design and deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable backend systems using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL
.
- Design, build, and maintain microservices-based backend systems and RESTful APIs
- Develop scalable services using Java and Kotlin with Spring / Spring Boot
- Design and optimize Postgre
SQL database schemas and queries for performance and reliability - Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker
- Collaborate with engineers using Git-based workflows and modern CI/CD practices
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best engineering standards
- Debug and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
- Support a hybrid work model with some on-site collaboration as needed
- Strong professional experience with Java and Kotlin
- Hands-on expertise with Spring / Spring Boot frameworks
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture patterns
- Experience working with Postgre
SQL or similar relational databases - Practical experience using Docker for containerized development
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Knowledge of backend security, performance, and scalability best practices
ITR Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) for eligible employees. The W2 pay range for this type of role is approximately $80.00 - $90.00 per billable hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. The final rate will be determined by factors such as experience, market trends, and specific job assignments.
