Lead Software Engineer, Data

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution and overall technical oversight for accounts from discovery through production and ongoing support
• Lead discovery, gather client requirements, and present solutions and trade-offs
• Lead architecture and own system design, including data models, warehouses, and ELT/ETL pipelines
• Evaluate and estimate work at system and project level
• Architect, build, maintain, and optimize Snowflake data models, warehouses, and pipelines
• Develop complex SQL, stored procedures, and transformations
• Apply Snowflake capabilities including Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, dynamic tables, and external and stage integrations
• Own Snowflake performance, governance, cost management, warehouse sizing, clustering, RBAC, and data security
• Design and maintain back-end APIs and services in Python and C#/.NET
• Design and own integrations with marketing, CRM, and analytics platforms
• Own CI/CD and deployment paths across cloud and on-premise environments
• Establish and improve engineering practices through code reviews, design reviews, and architecture decisions
• Set technical direction, review designs, pair on difficult problems, and develop team expertise
• Create and lead internal and client training
• Act as technical escalation point for production issues and own corrective actions
• Lead project-level technical communication with stakeholders and clients
• Participate in new business scoping and pursuits
• Contribute to technical reputation through knowledge sharing, writing, industry events, and panels
• Evaluate new platform capabilities and AI-assisted development tooling

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with the majority in data engineering
• Demonstrated technical leadership and accountability beyond individual work
• Deep hands-on Snowflake expertise, including data models, warehouses, ELT/ETL pipelines, and performant SQL
• Experience owning data model or data platform design from requirements through production
• Experience leading client or stakeholder discovery and shaping technical solutions
• Ability to estimate and plan work at system and project level
• Knowledge of Snowflake performance tuning, cost optimization, security, governance, warehouse sizing, clustering, and RBAC
• Strong proficiency in Python and C#, with recent hands-on experience in both
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Proven experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
• Practical Dev Ops experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and server configuration
• Comfort with Windows Server and Linux environments
• Track record of establishing engineering standards or practices
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent client projects
• Strong written and verbal communication, including technical communication with non-technical stakeholders
• Preferred: agency, consultancy, or client-services experience
• Preferred: active Snow Pro certification;
  Core strongly preferred and Advanced a significant plus
• Preferred: AI-assisted development tools, recent Snowflake capabilities, Redshift, Databricks, Azure services, Hub Spot platforms, IIS, .NET deployment, or Windows service management

Demonstrates extensive expertise in Snowflake data modeling, ELT/ETL pipeline architecture, and performance optimization, alongside strong technical leadership in software engineering and client engagement. Proficient in Python and C#, with a solid foundation in API design and Dev Ops practices.
