Baggage Coordinator Overview

Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Baggage Coordinator to manage the full life cycle of lost and/or delayed baggage, including customer service, tracking, and reuniting items with their owners.

Essential

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional written and verbal customer service regarding lost/delayed baggage
  • Communicate status updates to customers about delayed luggage or claims process
  • Process applicable claim forms to ensure baggage is properly documented
  • Manage lost, delayed, and baggage left on board to resolve claims in a timely manner
  • Assess financial versus service cost in returning delayed baggage/item
  • Update tracing and reservations software for internal departments, other carriers, and the baggage team
  • Update reports pertaining to lost and/or delayed baggage and/or items
  • Appropriately document and track physical inventory, exercising care and privacy
  • Provide exceptional customer service when contacting customers to collect information to resolve claims
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management
Required Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with airline applications
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior airline experience
Compensation

Pay: $16.50 USD per hour; $17.00 after 90 days. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
