Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and experienced individual to take on the role of Shipping/Receiving Associate in our supply chain department. As the Receiver, you will be assisting in the receiving and handling of large-form shipments and small packages within our organization. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt of goods, managing inventory records, coordinating with suppliers and carriers, and collaborating with various departments to streamline the logistics process.
Shift: M-F 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Key Responsibilities Receiving and Inspection- Shipping/receiving and inspection of large-form shipments, small packages, machinery, equipment, and oversized products.
- Verify contents against shipping documents and promptly address any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to inspect shipments for accuracy and condition.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods, update inventory databases, and track stock levels.
- Allocate appropriate storage space and optimize inventory utilization for both large and small items.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for handling large and heavy items as well as small packages during the receiving process.
- Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and industry standards.
- Utilize a forklift to load and unload large signs, ensuring proper strapping and securing of the signs for safe transport and storage.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and freight carriers to schedule deliveries, track shipments, and manage any delivery challenges.
- Cultivate positive relationships with vendors and carriers to improve shipping efficiency.
- Collaborate with various departments, including warehouse, purchasing, and logistics teams, to facilitate the smooth flow of items through the distribution process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all received shipments, inspection reports, and related paperwork.
- Generate regular reports on receiving activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the receiving department.
- Implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce errors in both large-form and small package shipments.
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Receiving: 1 year (Required)
- crate building: 1 year (Preferred)
- Forklift: 1 year (Required)
- Shipping: 2 years (Required)
- Strapping Trailers Down: 1 year (Required)
