DescriptionClass A CDL Recycling Operator
A Class A CDL Recycling Operator plays an essential role in keeping Rohn Industries’ recycling operations moving safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is primarily responsible for completing drop-and-hook and double drop-and-hook trailer exchanges, transporting materials, maintaining accurate records, and delivering professional service at customer locations.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, physically capable, and committed to following company procedures and transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Complete daily assignments established by the Dispatch Manager safely and efficiently.
- Perform primarily drop-and-hook and double drop-and-hook assignments, exchanging loaded trailers for empty trailers.
- Maintain prompt communication with Dispatch regarding route progress and service status.
- Immediately report delays, unsafe site conditions, accidents, equipment breakdowns, or other issues that may affect safety or service.
- Complete required logs, service records, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dispatch Manager or Director of Operations/Logistics.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers, coworkers, Dispatch, and Operations.
- Provide helpful, dependable service at customer locations.
- Respond appropriately to customer questions or concerns and communicate issues to Dispatch when additional assistance is needed.
- Represent Rohn Industries professionally during every customer interaction.
- Operate the assigned commercial vehicle and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Complete required vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance needs, damage, defects, or safety concerns.
- Protect company vehicles and equipment through proper operation and care.
- Follow company safety procedures while driving, connecting or disconnecting trailers, and working at customer locations.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations and company transportation policies.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Independently perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Lift, push, pull, and tilt objects weighing between 50 and 100 pounds without assistance.
- Safely perform the physical duties associated with trailer exchanges, equipment operation, and customer-site service.
