Position Summary:Assist the Bus Driver in providing safe transportation for students, especially those with special needs on school bus routes, ensuring proper boarding, seating, and conduct of passengers.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely; help secure wheelchairs or special seating as needed.
- Monitor student behavior during transport; assist in enforcing rules, maintain a safe environment.
- Assist driver with route changes, schedules, and passenger management.
- Keep the bus clean; help maintain order on the vehicle.
- Report incidents, lost items, student behavior issues, or vehicle concerns to driver or dispatch supervisor.
- Ability to interact positively and patiently with students.
- Ability to assist physically as needed (lifting/assisting students, securing equipment).
- Good communication skills; dependability and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
