Shipping Forklift Operator
The Shipping Forklift Operator is responsible for ensuring shipping and receiving deadlines are met on a daily basis. Utilizing a sit down forklift, they are responsible for loading and unloading trailers and railcars safely and within guidelines. The ability to identify and correct or report any issues around safety, quality, or housekeeping are critical in this role. The Shipping Forklift Operator will also be expected to:
- Follow all Safety and Housekeeping rules
- Fill out Forklift Safety Check Sheet at the start of each shift
- Utilizing a sit down forklift load trailers according to Customer requirements
- Inspect trailers prior to loading: damage, cleanliness, etc. Check off line on Tally Sheet and write down any defects. Notify Clerk if any issues
- Access KIWI for machine line-up
- Communicate with Clerk on orders coming down line: load into trailer or warehouse
- Understand IRF
- Follow special instructions for each order
- Communicate discrepancies to Clerk & or T.R.
- Fill out tally sheet for each order
- Any other duties as assigned.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- 1+ years of sit down forklift driving experience
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Strong work ethic, good judgement and decision-making skills
- Perform well with limited direct supervision
- Knowledge of general computer operations
- Strong communication skills
Applicants must have a stable work history, good attendance record, positive attitude and a desire to produce quality work as part of a team. The hiring process will include a pre-employment assessment, interview, background check and a health/drug screen.
