Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in managing daily warehouse operations and ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of the facility. This position supports the overall success of the warehouse by coordinating workflow, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting with the supervision of a unionized workforce.
Essential Functions of the Role- Schedule inbound shipments and manage dock appointments
- Oversee and coordinate workload using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Verify purchase orders for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain and administer warehouse documentation
- Delegate orders and assignments to warehouse employees
- Manage shipping processes and generate required reports
- Create and dispatch cycle count jobs
- Print packing slips and other related shipping or receiving documents
- Troubleshoot operational issues, including internet connectivity, order discrepancies, receiving concerns, and printer problems
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology and software
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree (or coursework) in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, agriculture, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or logistics experience; supervisory or lead experience in a warehouse/produce environment strongly preferred
- Experience with inventory control, receiving, order fulfillment, or shipping operations is a plus
- Previous experience in the produce supply or food distribution industry
- Understanding of cold storage environments and food safety best practices
- Experience working with unionized teams
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to produce handling
- Ability to stand, walk, twist, turn, bend, and move throughout the entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
