Senior Accountant

Overview

The Malco Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial information through analysis, reconciliation, and continuous process improvement. This position supports month-end and year-end close, prepares financial reports, ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and partners closely with cross-functional teams. A strong background in manufacturing/cost accounting is essential to succeed in this role, particularly related to inventory, fixed assets, standard cost, and analysis of manufacturing variances.

• Creates journal entries, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts for monthly and annual financial close.
• Prepare financial statements and ensure all entries comply with GAAP.
• Review accuracy of financial data before distribution.
• Analyze inventory activity, standard costing variances, and fixed assets related to manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, and New Product teams.
• Support continuous improvement across manufacturing cost processes.
• Sales and tax filings.
• Support Controller with the annual budget process.
• Ensure compliance with financial institution requirements.
• Manage fixed assets and inventory accounting.
• Facilitate insurance renewals and prepare materials for audits.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP, ERP Systems (Oracle strongly preferred), and Sage Fixed Assets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
