Position: Payroll/Bookkeeper (Construction BONUS!)
Location: Saint Paul

Ledgent is partnering with a small construction company in the south metro looking to add a Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper to their team. This hiring manager is targeting someone who has worked in a small company environment processing payroll; it would be a bonus if this individual has bookkeeping/accounting experience and if they worked in a construction environment.

South metro. On-site. $65,00-$75,000/annually.

Job Description:
  • Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including field and office staff
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data
  • Review and verify employee timecards, including job cost coding and project allocations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including prevailing wage requirements (if applicable)
  • Assist with audits, including workers' compensation and union audits
  • Process employee benefit deductions (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.)
  • Assist with payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
  • 3-4+ years of payroll, bookkeeper or office management experience (must have payroll)
  • ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll software experience
  • Construction Industry (BONUS)
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping experience (BONUS)
