Accounting Manager

Location: Saint Paul

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accounting Manager oversees the organization's general ledger accounting function and is responsible for the following, including but not limited to:

* Manage the monthly financial close process, including the preparation and initial review of internal financial statements, validation of accruals, account reconciliations, and gross profit analysis

* Research, analyze, and document non-routine accounting transactions to ensure compliance

* Drive the accuracy and efficiency of the financial close and revenue recognition processes by identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance controls, streamline workflows, and improve reporting quality

* Analyze financial and operational results, identify key business drivers, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and operational teams

* Coordinate with external auditors to support audit activities and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting

* Support the treasury function of the organization through cash reconciliation, cash flow management, and daily banking processes

* Partner with the FP&A team to support the annual budgeting and forecasting process

* Lead and support finance initiatives, including system enhancements and process improvements that expand scalability and operational efficiency as the organization grows

* Supervise, mentor, and develop team members by fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on continuous learning and professional growth

* Provide ongoing support to the Controller on strategic finance and accounting initiatives, special projects, and other responsibilities as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal controls, with a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

* Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting applications, with the ability to leverage technology to improve accounting processes and reporting

* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate, meaningful financial reports, forecasts, and business analyses

* Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Microsoft Access or other data analysis tools is preferred

* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization

* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing team members

* Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging technology to enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

* CPA and relevant experience in public accounting preferred

* Progressive leadership experience in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management
