Accounting Analyst

Location: Saint Paul

Description We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to support core financial operations for a scientific instrument manufacturing organization in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. This Contract position will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, assisting with transaction processing, and helping ensure timely completion of day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of accounting workflows, and the ability to manage both payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, review payment details, and support accurate accounts payable activities in accordance with company procedures.

- Manage customer invoicing and assist with collections follow-up to help maintain healthy accounts receivable balances.

- Perform account reconciliations by comparing financial records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving outstanding items promptly.

- Support recurring billing tasks and ensure invoices are prepared correctly and delivered within required timelines.

- Maintain organized financial documentation and update accounting records to reflect daily transactions accurately.

- Assist with general accounting operations, including transaction review, data entry validation, and reporting support.

- Partner with internal teams to clarify payment issues, research variances, and improve the accuracy of financial information. Requirements - Experience working in an accounting role with hands-on exposure to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Practical knowledge of billing procedures and the ability to manage invoicing with a high level of accuracy.

- Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies in financial records.

- Familiarity with general accounting functions, including transaction processing and record maintenance.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial tracking and analysis.
