JOB SUMMARYThe primary responsibility of this role is to organize, coordinate, and manage office functions while serving as the administrative assistant to the Principal and Dean of Students. The individual must be dedicated to supporting students and the community, with a strong belief that every student can succeed.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY- Provide administrative support to the Principal by scheduling appointments, composing letters, memoranda, and other correspondence.
- Greet visitors and answer phones in a friendly, professional manner. Ensure all visitors sign in and adhere to school visitor guidelines.
- Maintain daily attendance records, including writing slips, updating Synergy, and contacting parents/guardians. Collaborate with the truancy officer to stay updated on student attendance.
- Track and manage Field Trip Permission Forms.
- Compile data to prepare reports or fulfill requests.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting special events for the high school, including academic breakfasts, conferences, open houses, community nights, and graduation ceremonies.
- Coordinate the weekly radio program in collaboration with students, staff, and administration.
- Assist the Dean of Students with tasks, including preparing letters, reports, and system entries.
- Support the Activities Director with assigned duties.
- Administer first aid and health-related tasks to students as needed in the absence of the nurse/health assistant, following established guidelines.
- Maintain and update the Student Handbook/Calendar and Staff Handbook for each school year.
- Assign locks and lockers to students.
- Prepare the STAR Report by gathering, verifying, and organizing data for accurate and timely reporting.
- Assist with maintaining the District website and Facebook page.
- Communicate school news and events to local newspapers and radio stations.
- Create and distribute the District Newsletter
- Maintain the District Google Calendar.
- Use the Synergy system to send automated alerts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing job conditions.
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and fax machines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills, including tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Knowledge of Google, Microsoft Office, and Synergy software is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in an environment with constant interruptions while completing tasks.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with confidentiality and discretion.
This position does not include supervision of other district employees.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT- Physical requirements may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- The job typically requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in administrative support or customer service roles is preferred but not required.
