Summary
SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION The Center Support Assistant assists the Center Manager in daily operations by completing a variety of tasks and responsibilities based on center needs, and at the discretion of the Center Manager. The Center Support Assistant reviews family information and verifies documents to certify eligibility, assists in proper selection and enrollment, maintains child attendance records, inputs data into data systems, and completes related reports.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: bills and coding, inventory, food service report, shopping, in-kind, and supporting classrooms as needed. He or she helps recruit potential parents by providing information about various program services and benefits offered to enrolled children and families.
- Assist the Center Manager in daily operations, completing various tasks as needed.
- Review family information and verify documents to certify eligibility.
- Assist in proper selection and enrollment of families.
- Maintain child attendance records.
- Input data into data systems and complete related reports.
- Handle bills and coding, inventory, food service reports, shopping, and in‑kind contributions.
- Support classroom activities as directed by the Center Manager or Curriculum Coordinator.
- Recruit potential parents by providing information on program services and benefits.
- Ensure application/eligibility forms are complete, accurate, and appropriate.
- Verify family eligibility criteria for program funding sources.
- Compile data from databases to assist in selection priorities.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date database and assist the Center Manager in completing selections for enrollment.
- Ensure quality of data entered by running periodic accuracy checks.
- Assist other staff in ensuring data is entered into the program database.
- Enter and transfer program enrollment data efficiently.
- Compile program data as requested and assist in developing reports.
- Maintain current records on child enrollment, daily attendance, in‑kind and meal counts.
- Ensure enrollment records are entered into the data entry systems and copies are made as needed.
- Assist in development and distribution of center information such as newsletters, flyers, postings, and notices.
- Facilitate telephone communication between center staff, families, and the public.
- Communicate regularly with the supervisor and center staff.
- Assist in shopping and ordering of center supplies.
- Assist in completing center contracts and collecting required documentation for record‑keeping.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials; ensure inventory is entered into the database.
- Assist in documenting purchases, processing payments, and maintaining current accounts.
- Provide supplies and materials to staff in a timely manner.
- Assist with gathering and documenting community assessment information.
- Ensure all Tri‑Valley buses are scheduled for DOT inspections and properly prepared.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and oil changes for all Tri‑Valley‑owned buses.
- Maintain and update the car seat inventory, ensuring no car seats are expired.
- Prepare bus route information forms, including detailed routes and designated pick‑up points.
- Develop and maintain bus passenger attendance lists.
- Have or obtain within 90 days of hire a First Aid and CPR Certification and maintain certification during employment.
