Long-Term Substitute Media Center/Help Desk Assistant
Lake Ripley Elementary seeks a long-term substitute for the media center/help desk assistant. This position provides assistance in the school's media center while supporting basic student and staff technology needs. This individual works closely with students, teachers, and district technology staff to create a welcoming learning environment and ensure access to library and technology resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Media Center Responsibilities
- Assist students and staff with locating and checking out library materials.
- Organize, shelve, and maintain library books and resources.
- Support media center lessons and activities under the direction of school staff.
- Promote student engagement in reading and literacy initiatives.
- Expose children to age-appropriate literature through reading aloud during weekly classroom visits to the media center.
- Assist with inventory, circulation records, and resource management.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and student-friendly media center environment.
- Help Desk Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for student and staff technology issues.
- Document and communicate technology issues to district technology personnel when necessary.
- Help maintain technology equipment inventory and organization.
General Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
- Follow district policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer and technology troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
