Journeyman Technician About the Role
The Journeyman Technician performs skilled automotive repairs including diagnostics, mechanical system work, maintenance, and drivability repairs. This role supports shop productivity and ensures vehicles are repaired to OEM and dealership standards.
Essential Functions /Key Responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate-level diagnostics and repairs.
- Repair brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
- Complete maintenance services and component replacements.
- Conduct drivability diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Document repair findings clearly and accurately.
- Communicate with Advisors on additional findings or needed approvals.
- Test-drive vehicles to validate repairs.
- Maintain tools, shop equipment, and proper safety practices.
- Support workflow by assisting Light Duty Technicians.
- Meet productivity and quality targets.
- Assist with mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Support shop operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years automotive repair experience preferred.
- ASE certifications preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop.
Indoor service shop with exposure to noise, lifts, and automotive systems.
Physical Requirements- Lifting 50–75 lbs
- Extended standing
- Bending, kneeling, reaching
Full-time; may require Saturdays.
