Graduate Intern
Location:
Washington, D.C. United States
The IDB Group is a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our people find purpose and do what they love in an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding environment.
About this position
The IDB Group is looking for an active graduate student to be hired as an intern under the Consultant modality.
The 2026 Summer Internship Program is a competitive paid opportunity, based in Headquarters, for university students from member countries to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.
What you'll do
* Organize and categorize ESG capacity building and communication products. The intern will review and inventory existing ESG materials, including training curricula, learning modules, publications, online courses, and blog posts. The intern will arrange these resources in a user-friendly, visually appealing format for internal audiences, while also identifying gaps in documentation to inform future content development.
* Develop protocols for ESG-authored publications. The intern will support the creation of standardized procedures for submitting, reviewing, and approving ESG-authored publications. This involves mapping current workflows, aligning with IDB guidance, and drafting clear processes to streamline publication.
* Co-develop feedback loop protocols for the ESG Capacity Building Strategy. Working closely with the ESG Capacity Building team, the intern will help design and implement feedback mechanisms to support continuous improvement of the strategy. This includes developing tools to collect and analyze input from both internal and external stakeholders.
* Support migration of materials from SharePoint to EZ-Share. The intern will assist in transferring ESG Capacity Building materials to EZ-Share, auditing existing files, applying standardized naming conventions, and ensuring all content is properly organized and accessible in its new location.
* Support the planning and execution of capacity-building events. The intern will contribute to coordinating in-person, virtual, and hybrid ESG Capacity Building events, assisting with logistics, providing live support during sessions, and helping with post-event activities, including feedback collection and reporting.
What you'll need
* Education:
An active graduate student in Information Management, Knowledge Management, Communications, International Development, Environmental Studies, or a similar field from an accredited university. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
* Languages:
Fluency in English is required; a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.
* Key
Skills:
Learn continuously, collaborate and share knowledge, focus on clients, communicate and influence, innovate and try new things
* Technical skills:
Strong technical skills in managing digital content, organizing files systematically, and ensuring consistency in formatting and metadata. Experience in event organization and familiarity with document management systems are a plus. The role requires a certain level of diplomacy and independence, along with attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a systemic mindset. Familiarity with ESG issues and/or international development will be beneficial for understanding the context and contributing meaningfully to the team's work.
Requirements
* Citizenship:
Be a national of an IDB member country.
* Active student:
Enrolled in a graduate (master's or Ph.D.) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
