POSITION SUMMARY
Braham Area Schools is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic individual to join the Bomber BASK Program as a Childcare Program Helper.
BASK provides a safe, challenging, and nurturing environment for students inPreK through Grade
6. This role will assist with the daily operation of the program and help provide children with a positive and enjoyable experience before and/or after the school day.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and good judgment, works well as part of a team, and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide active and attentive supervision of children at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment.
- Follow all Bomber BASK, Braham Area Schools, and childcare policies and procedures.
- Assist with daily arrival, dismissal, and student check-in/check-out procedures.
- Participate in games, crafts, sports, outdoor play, reading, homework time, and other recreational activities.
- Promote respectful behavior, cooperation, sharing, and appropriate communication.
- Use positive behavior guidance and help children resolve minor conflicts appropriately.
- Set up, organize, and put away program materials, games, crafts, and equipment.
- Communicate concerns regarding a child's safety, behavior, or well-being to the Program Coordinator.
- Protect the confidentiality of children, families, and school district information.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, parents/guardians, school staff, and coworkers.
- Assist other BASK staff members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Bomber BASK Program Coordinator.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively with children in a school-age childcare setting.
- 15 years and older
- Demonstrated patience, good judgment, and a positive attitude.
- Must successfully complete all required school district and childcare employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children.
- Previous childcare, school, recreation, camp, coaching, or youth program experience.
- Experience working with school-age children.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required.
- Knowledge of positive behavior guidance and age-appropriate activities.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background checks and other employment requirements established by Braham Area Schools and applicable Minnesota law.
