Job Summary

Are you a high school or college student, recent education graduate, retired educator, or experienced professional with a passion for working with school-age children? Join the Spartan Kids, and play a vital role in creating a fun and enriching before and after school experience for children in Kindergarten - 5th grade. As part of our team, you will plan and implement developmentally and age-appropriate activities, supervise children using effective classroom management techniques, create a warm and welcoming environment for students and families, maintain cleanliness and safety, and set clear rules and expectations within the before and after school program .

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise and make a positive impact on the lives of young learners during before and after school child care. Hours available:
Monday - Friday 7 - 9am, 3:30 - 5:45 pm. Additional hours available on non - school days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging choice-based activities for school-age children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise children in Kindergarten - 5th grade, utilizing appropriate student and classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and positive environment.
  • Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and families, building positive relationships and a sense of community.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the program, including sanitization and organization of materials and equipment.
  • Set clear rules and expectations for behavior, promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Effectively communicate with all Spartan Kids staff, students and parents.
Qualifications
  • Fun, nurturing, and caring demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Highly organized and flexible, able to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
  • Experience in child care is appreciated, showcasing your understanding of the needs and interests of school-age children.
  • Two years of experience in a related field, such as education or child development, is preferred, demonstrating your academic background and commitment to the field.
  • First-aid and CPR certification is preferred, highlighting your commitment to the safety and well-being of children.
  • Work experience with school-age children (ages 5-12) is desirable, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children, facilitating effective engagement and support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to self-direct and provide direction to students.
About you
  • You have a fun, nurturing, and caring personality with a genuine love for working with children.
  • You are punctual, reliable, and ready to jump into various tasks with a flexible attitude.
  • We appreciate any previous work with kids ages 5
    -12.
  • The Extras: If you have First-aid/CPR certification or experience in child care, we definitely want to hear about it!
Compensation

Pay Range: $13.65 - $18.50 DOQ
Benefits:
Earned Sick and Safe Time, PERA

Positions within the district can be combined to create a full-time position with benefits.
