Responsibilities:
Estimating & Project Analysis
- Review residential and light commercial construction plans and specifications.
- Perform detailed and accurate material takeoffs from blueprints.
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates and quotations.
- Verify quantities, specifications, and scope requirements.
- Identify potential project challenges and provide solutions prior to construction.
- Generate material lists and purchase orders.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source materials efficiently.
- Work closely with purchasing and operations teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor material availability and communicate lead times when necessary.
- Assist with value-engineering opportunities and product substitutions when appropriate.
- Collaborate with contractors, builders, architects, designers, and homeowners throughout the estimating process.
- Support the sales team by providing timely and accurate project information.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding estimates, product selections, and project requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and vendor partners.
- Utilize ECI Spruce and Plan Swift software to develop accurate estimates and project documentation.
- Maintain organized project files and estimate records.
- Ensure pricing and product information remain accurate and current within company systems.
- Minimum 3 years of Lumber & Building Materials (LBM) estimating experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret residential and commercial construction blueprints.
- Experience performing detailed material takeoffs.
- Proficiency with ECI Spruce software.
- Experience using Plan Swift estimating software.
- Strong knowledge of lumber and building material products.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience estimating residential framing packages preferred.
- Knowledge of engineered wood products, windows, doors, siding, roofing, and exterior products preferred.
- Experience working directly with contractors, builders, and construction professionals preferred.
- Understanding of construction sequencing and project management principles preferred.
