Vice President, Construction About the Opportunity

Our client is entering a significant growth phase and is seeking an accomplished construction executive to build, lead, and optimize a best-in-class construction function. This role will oversee a growing portfolio of capital projects, driving operational excellence, developing scalable delivery frameworks, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This is an opportunity for a hands‑on leader who combines big‑picture thinking with deep construction expertise and thrives in high‑growth environments.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Provide strategic leadership across all construction activities, supporting a pipeline of approximately 10 concurrent projects.
  • Design and implement scalable construction processes that drive consistency, efficiency, and execution excellence across the portfolio.
  • Direct projects from early-stage planning through final commissioning, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high‑performing team of construction professionals, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
  • Establish a strong network of general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure dependable project delivery and competitive commercial outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to optimize constructability, cost, and project performance.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all active project sites.
  • Introduce and refine project controls, reporting structures, and performance metrics to support organizational growth and informed decision‑making.
  • Drive risk management initiatives and proactively resolve project challenges before they impact delivery timelines or budgets.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree is advantageous.
  • 15 years of progressive construction leadership experience, including oversight of multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling construction teams, programs, or organizations within a growth-focused environment.
  • Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management capabilities, including experience with EPC/GC agreements, project controls, and cost management.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience delivering high‑voltage electrical infrastructure, renewable energy projects, energy storage systems, or related industrial developments is highly desirable.
  • Deep commitment to safety, quality assurance, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to project locations as required.
