Construction Manager/ Foreman
Stonewood, LLC
- Wayzata, MN
You’ve run enough jobs to know the difference between a schedule that looks good on paper and one that actually holds. You know which framer to call when the drawings change on a Friday, how to walk a client through a $40,000 decision without losing the relationship, and what a truly flat wall looks like before the drywall crew tells you it’s done.
If you're the builder people call when the project has to be right, keep reading.

Stonewood has been building in the west metro since 1947 - four generations of the same family, still headquartered in Wayzata, still building the kind of homes that outlast the people who build them. We do ground-up custom homes and significant remodels for clients on Lake Minnetonka, in Orono, Medina, Wayzata, Deephaven, Edina, and the Minneapolis lakes neighborhoods. Most of our work comes from architects, designers, and past clients who’ve seen how we operate.
We are also unusually serious about how construction gets managed. Our project management platform, Build Tools, was built inside this company by builders who were tired of running jobs out of spreadsheets and email. You'll have real tools, real data, and a team that expects you to use both.
Our core values:
- Ethical
- Motivating positive attitude
- Passionate about details and consistency
- Humble
- Take initiative and drive to completion

The RoleThis is a combined project manager and construction supervisor position - a builder’s job, not a desk job. You own the project from the start of construction through final walkthrough and warranty: the budget, the schedule, the trades, the quality, and the client relationship. You are the face of Stonewood on that job site.
What you won’t do is carry all of it alone. Our pre-construction team handles estimating, bidding, and design-phase coordination, so projects arrive in your hands scoped and budgeted rather than half-guessed. Our production staff supports purchasing, vendor compliance, and scheduling infrastructure behind you. You run your jobs with real autonomy - but you're not out there improvising by yourself.
Expect to run two to four projects at a time depending on size and complexity, with a mix of custom homes and high-end remodels.
What You’ll OwnBudget and change orders. Manage the project budget line by line. Identify scope changes early, price them accurately, get them approved before the work happens, and keep the client’s number honest all the way to closeout.
Site supervision and quality control. Daily presence on your job sites. Set the standard for the trades, catch problems at rough-in rather than at punch list, and hold the line on the details that separate a Stonewood house from a nice house.
Trade partner and vendor management. Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, hold them to schedule and scope, and build the kind of relationships that get you the A-crew when you need it.
Client, architect, and designer communication. You are the primary point of contact during construction. Lead weekly site meetings, keep the design team aligned, and communicate proactively - especially when the news isn’t good.
Scheduling. Build and maintain a real construction schedule, sequence the trades, and manage long-lead items and selections deadlines so the job never waits on a decision that should have been made in March.
Code compliance and inspections. Coordinate municipal inspections across multiple west metro jurisdictions, each with their own personality, and keep the project compliant from permit through CO.
Documentation and reporting. Maintain accurate, current project records - daily logs, RFIs, submittals,…
