What You’ll Do

As a Sterilization Technician
, you'll play a critical role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring instruments, equipment, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and prepared for safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced dental practice.

  • Scrub, wash, disinfect, and decontaminate surgical and dental instruments to remove biological debris
  • Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment according to established protocols
  • Assemble, inspect, package, label, and store sterile instruments and supplies
  • Prepare, set up, and break down treatment rooms before and after patient procedures
  • Maintain sterilization records and monitor equipment performance
  • Track inventory of sterile instruments and clinical supplies to ensure adequate availability
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterilization areas and clinical work spaces
  • Dispose of contaminated materials following OSHA and infection control guidelines
  • Support dentists and clinical staff by ensuring instruments and equipment are available for patient care
  • Perform additional duties to support daily clinical operations
Qualifications

Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to infection prevention and patient safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred:
  • Experience operating autoclaves or sterilization equipment
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and medical terminology
  • Experience with inventory management in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with OSHA, CDC, and AAMI standards

Physical Requirements
