Overview
- Job Title: Urgent Care Physician

- Duration: Full-time Locum Assignment (ongoing, subject to facility need)
- Start Date: April 2026
- Shift
Schedule:
6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 7 days on / 7 days off rotation - How Many Shifts Needed per Month: Approximately 14 shifts per month
- License: Any active and unrestricted U.S. state medical license accepted
- Certifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Practice or Urgent Care; BLS (ACLS preferred if required by facility)
- Provide urgent and primary care services in a federally operated IHS facility
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan within scope of practice
- Perform required urgent care procedures
- Document all encounters accurately in RPMS
- Collaborate with 3–4 physicians and mid-level providers on shift
- Adhere to federal, facility, and IHS clinical guidelines and policies
- Experience Needed:
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Family Practice or Urgent Care preferred - Special Skills Needed:
- Ability to manage 10–12 patients per shift
- Comfortable performing urgent care procedures within scope of practice
- Experience working in a collaborative environment with mid-level support
- Familiarity with RPMS EMR preferred
- Ability to meet federal credentialing, background investigation, and fingerprinting requirements
- Licensure and Credentialing:
License to practice in the U.S.; credentialing process (6 weeks to 8 weeks) includes federal background check and fingerprinting; final site approval determines start - U.S. Citizenship required
- Government facility:
Indian Health Services
- Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks (includes federal background check and fingerprinting; final approval determined by site)
- Reimbursement provided for car rental, flights, and hotel accommodations
- Facility includes a Critical Access Hospital and Outpatient Ambulatory Care Clinic serving approximately 12,000 active users
- Regional airport access available via Bemidji (approximately 19 minutes from Cass Lake)
