Sanford Clinic Windom, MN is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician.

  • OB is optional
  • Good variety in practice from adult chronic medical conditions to young couples starting families
  • Nights & weekends supported by telehospitalists
  • Phone call coverage 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month
  • Nursing home responsibility shared with physicians
  • Current services on hospital site include Cardiac Rehab, Chemotherapy and Diabetic Services, ER imaging services with ultrasound and 128-slice CT, PAX system, ER telemetry, IV Infusion, Lab, OT, Speech & Language Rehab/Therapy, and a dietitian on staff
  • ER is a level 4
  • Outreach services provided at the hospital include Allergy asthma/immunology, cardiology, ENT, general surgery, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, ortho, podiatry, urology and venous disease laser treatment

Job Description Family Medicine Core Privileges

Family Medicine Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems. This includes the pre-operative care of surgical patients and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues.

Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
  • An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
  • Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subsidiary board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable.
