Description
. This is a contract, on-site position within the Medical Practice industry, offering a unique opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.
As a Locum Primary Care Physician, you will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for a diverse patient population. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence throughout your assignment.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across a range of ages and conditions
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and assess health status
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and preventive care strategies
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness
- Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and quality standards of the medical practice
- Participate in case reviews and clinical discussions to support continuous improvement
- Provide referrals to appropriate specialists when advanced care is required
- MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care
- Associate-level experience in a primary care or clinical practice setting
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented medical environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice
- Willingness to work on-site in Montevideo for the duration of the contract
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical settings and patient populations
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p)
No call requirement
Setting:
Outpatient
Patient Volume: 12 per day
Responsibilities:
Preventative care, physicals, screenings, treatment, medication management, and diagnoses
EMR: CPRS
Any state license accepted
Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, and DEA
