Position Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour of private lesson teaching

Position Summary:

Responsible to provide weekly private lessons to members of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 30, 45 or 60 minute weekly lessons each semester to students from the community.

* Confirm all lessons within 24 hours after receipt of student names, discuss schedules, make up lessons and other issues directly with student's parents.

* Submit changes in scheduling or student lists and mandatory forms to the Academy Office in writing.

* Check email and voice mail daily.

* Director of Academy of Music will observe two lessons per semester and provide evaluation.

* Be conscious of lesson time, especially with back-to-back lessons.

* Make up any missed lesson time if tardy/absent to lesson.

* Call the Academy Office on sick days, emergencies, etc. and submit lesson availability, attendance forms and recital information to the Academy Office on the posted due dates.

* Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

* Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, tactful and courteous manner

* At least one year of previous teaching experience

Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice to Have (Optional):

* Currently pursuing a music degree strongly preferred
