QualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related area. Licensed as School Social Worker by the State of MN and licensed by the MN Board of Social Work to practice as a social worker or school counselor by the State of MN.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the elementary school principal, the social worker provides consultation, resources or referrals to students and families to maximize school success by addressing and impacting students’ personal, social, and emotional needs in home, school, and community. The social worker also provides individual and group sessions, crisis intervention, and assistance to students and families. Additional responsibilities include providing a variety of assessment, pre‑referral, and consultative services for students in special education, overseeing the advisory/mentor program, participating with school staff in the ongoing implementation of PBIS programming, and attendance support.
Salary and BenefitsSalary and benefits are dependent upon qualifications and experience as per the EDMN‑HLWW Master Agreement.
