Position Overview
Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a full‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) for the school year. This position provides an opportunity to work with students with various disabilities across grade levels.
Responsibilities- Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations, interpreting results, and determining if students meet initial entrance or continuing criteria under any Minnesota state Speech or Language Impairment category.
- Developing and implementing annual Individual Education Program (IEP) plans for students to include present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
- Provides research‑based specialized communication instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives within each student’s IEP plan.
- Serves as the primary contact for the parent(s), classroom teacher, and other support staff.
- Effectively and appropriately work with parents, students, staff, and other educational professionals regarding the student and district’s instructional needs, concerns, or challenges.
- Maintain, document, and update due process records per federal and state laws, rules, and/or regulations.
- Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans, and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with IEPs.
- Enhance treatment, methodology, interventions, and best speech and language practices via continuing education and professional development activities.
$55,234–$83,013 annual salary, determined by licensure and experience
