Position Title
ECFE Child Educator
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the ECFE Coordinator and Community Education Director, the ECFE Child Educator is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities and instruction for children birth to 5 years old and their parents while serving as a role model and resource for parents in adult/child interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities for parents and their children.
- Communicate and inform parents of developmental milestones.
- Select, create, and implement curriculum for the various age groups.
- In collaboration with parent educators, plan, organize, and conduct parent‑family education classes.
- Design and implement the overall structure of the class including plans for room management and guidance of children.
- Create a safe and appealing environment for learning.
- Provide guidance and lead on‑site support in setting up the room for activities, monitoring of play and learning activities, and implementation of plans.
- Attend training sessions, conferences, seminars, and departmental meetings.
- Keep abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.
Hold or have the ability to obtain an early childhood license with the State of Minnesota.
