Schedule & Commitment:
- Dates: June 8, 2026 - July 13, 2026
- Days: Monday nights only
- Hours: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- Note: This is a 6-week seasonal position. Reliability during this window is essential.
Primary Objective:
To lead an introductory t-ball skills class for children ages 3-5. The instructor will provide a high-energy, positive first experience with the sport, focusing on basic movements and fundamentals in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Weekly Lessons: Plan and run drills for hitting (off a tee), fielding ground balls, throwing, and base running.
- Toddler Management: Keep the atmosphere fun and fast-paced to match the energy and attention spans of 3-5 year olds.
- Parent Engagement: Serve as the face of the program; welcome families, answer basic questions, and encourage parent involvement in drills when appropriate.
- Equipment & Safety: Set up and take down equipment (tees, bases, cones, foam balls) each Monday. Ensure all play is safe and age-appropriate.
- Professionalism: Arrive on time (ready to start at 4:00 PM), maintain a positive attitude, and represent the District professionally.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience coaching or teaching young children (ages 3-5) is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of baseball/softball fundamentals and the ability to explain them in very simple terms.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills; must be comfortable speaking to both children and parents.
- Independence: Ability to lead a class session with minimal supervision.
- Certification: Certified in First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain before the June 8th start date).
