Library Assistant I – Blackduck, MN

Part‑time substitute position responsible for providing library service directly to library users in accordance with Kitchigami Regional Library (KRL) policies and procedures.

• Perform circulation, reference, and other public service duties.
• Compile statistics and complete reports as required.
• Maintain current knowledge of authors, materials, and information services.
• Operate branch or department as designated by branch or department manager.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Provide substitute staff work during evenings and Saturdays in accordance with branch hours.

• Prior library experience or a combination of education and experience necessary to perform job duties.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Knowledge of computers, technology, and basic understanding of computer operations.
• Knowledge of Internet search engines and databases.
• Basic understanding of public library functions and the Dewey Decimal System.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Wage: $14.76 per hour.

Benefits: Paid sick leave. Covered by Workers Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), and Social Security. Probationary period: 12 weeks.
