Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school environment
• Familiarity with classroom settings and educational terminology
• Ability to interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality
• Possession of relevant interpreting credentials or certifications is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, staff, and families
• Commitment to supporting students' educational achievements and well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and Sign Language for students in classrooms, assemblies, and school events
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and other staff to ensure accessible and inclusive learning environments
• Support students' individual needs, adjusting interpreting style as appropriate
• Foster effective communication, helping students actively participate in lessons and group activities
• Uphold professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreters
• Maintain documentation as required for student support services
