Position Title:
Lunchroom and Recess Paraprofessional
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt
Hours:
2.5 hours per day, 11:30 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Start Date:
2026-27 School Year
Pay Rate: starting pay is $20.88 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
Must be highly qualified. Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred. Qualified candidates must enjoy working in a school setting, helping students grow to their full potential, and working with others in a collaborative environment.
Job Summary:
The Lunchroom/Recess Paraprofessional assists the students during their lunch and recess time as part of the school day. This person must supervise children to ensure a safe environment during lunch/recess and to assist children with appropriate behaviors following applicable District policies/procedures.
Qualifications:
* Must be highly qualified
* Must have high school education or equivalent
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills
* Ability to handle confrontational situations with students and use good judgement when student restraint is necessary
* Ability to follow directions
* Ability to effectively work with students, parents and staff
* Preferred experience working with elementary age students
