Ranging $21.07 - $22.63 per hour, dependent on prior experience

Summary
Assist in the Early Childhood Program part-day classroom. Applicants should demonstrate a love for working in early childhood, passion for serving early childhood students and families, and ability to communicate with parents and fellow staff members.

Early Childhood Family Education Coordinator
Job Description
1. Assist in planning and directing classroom activities based on specific instructions from the classroom teacher and program coordinator
2. Collaborate with colleagues in a variety of ways, including implementing instructional activities planned by classroom teacher(s)
3. Monitor student behavior in accordance with school district and program policies and procedures
4. Develop strong relationships with children to promote learning and partnerships with parents/caregivers to promote family engagement
5. Provide a safe, nurturing educational environment for children, including those with special needs
6. Perform routine clerical duties related to the job assignment
7. Maintain informational and operational records, such as class attendance
8. Monitor and maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment
9. Supervision of students in/outdoors
10. Attend staff/district trainings and meetings as needed
11. Promote a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Centennial Preschool program and contribute to a positive, respectful, professional working environment
12. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Experience in the supervision of children, preferably early childhood and/or preschool
- Demonstrates successful skills in organization, verbal and written communication, and working with children and families of diverse backgrounds
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations preferred
- Experience in special education and/or working with high-needs students
- Must be highly qualified:
1. Have at least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education; or
2. Hold an associate's degree or higher; or
3. Have a passing score on an approved, formal assessment (Para Pro or Para educator Assessment)
