We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered SLD Special Education Teacher to join our team. The SLD Teacher will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and support staff to provide specialized instruction and interventions for students in grades 4 - 6 with specific learning disabilities. This position requires a strong commitment to student growth, inclusion, and academic success.

Major Areas of Accountability- Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs.
- Work with families and staff to support student success.
- Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, math, and other academic areas.
- Use interventions and teaching strategies that support different learning needs.
- Modify assignments and classroom supports as needed.
- Maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
- Use positive behavior supports and reinforcement strategies.
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Stay informed on special education practices and requirements.
- Support and advocate for students with disabilities.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful school environment.
- While this position does not entail direct supervision of other employees, it does provide indirect supervision for the Paraprofessional(s) in the classroom.
- The SLD Special Education Teacher works in a classroom setting and collaborates with staff to support students in a variety of educational environments. The position may include small group instruction, co‑teaching, and individualized student support.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with specific learning disabilities preferred. Knowledge of evidence‑based interventions, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring practices strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills required.
